No Medical Advice: Our services, website, and resources do not constitute medical advice. Always consult with your OB/GYN, pediatrician, or qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns.
2. Service Boundaries & Limitations
Daytime Support Only: Services are strictly provided during daytime hours. Held Heart Doula does not offer overnight support or 24-hour care.
Travel Radius: Our primary service area is within a 30-minute driving radius of Oakland, CA. Services requested outside of this radius are at Eve’s discretion and may incur a travel surcharge.
3. Payments, Retainers, & Medi-Cal
Retainer: A 20% non-refundable retainer and a signed Service Contract are required to reserve your dates on our calendar.
Rates: Daytime support is billed at an hourly rate of $100–$120.
Medi-Cal: For clients using Medi-Cal benefits, billing will be processed according to current California state guidelines. Clients are responsible for any fees or hours not covered by their specific plan as outlined in the Service Contract.
4. Cancellations & Shifts
Specific notice periods for canceling or rescheduling a scheduled visit are outlined in your individual Service Contract.
In the event that Eve cannot attend a shift due to illness or emergency, we will work to reschedule or provide a refund for that specific shift.
5. Professional Referrals
While we provide infant feeding support (non-IBCLC) and resources, we stay within our professional scope. We reserve the right to refer you to a medical professional (IBCLC, Pediatrician, PMAD Specialist) if your needs exceed our training.
6. Limitation of Liability
By using our services and website, you agree that Held Heart Doula is not liable for any specific outcomes related to your postpartum recovery or your child’s development. You assume all responsibility for health decisions made for your family.
